Vigor CS or Robbe Millennium? (Part III)
Simon Lockington

Well, since my last article a lot has happened... My mate Darryll and I had pretty much made our minds on getting a Robbe Millennium each, we were quite prepared to give the new Robbe retailer a go and order them off him.

Darryll and I have been JR pilots up till now each with Ergo 46's and Z230s. We've always enjoyed the prompt personal service from the local hobby shop that supports JR products here, albeit if we have sometimes been a bit disheartened by the cost of parts for the JR line.

Anyway, we were going to order the machines on Saturday last week when on Wednesday, the LHS owner rung me up to see if I was still interested in a CS. In all truth, I'd pretty much made up my mind, but decided to hear him out. After a lot of thinking and talking with Darryll and the owners of the two CS's that we know of in NZ , we decided that we'd go with the Vigor. Nothing against the Millennium or anything else, we just plain changed our mind.

So we've placed the order, it's gonna be three weeks before they arrive, can't wait really! Only dilemma is what colour to paint the canopy? My current thoughts were to give it the Curtis paint job (idea being that the heli will think it's Curtis' machine and fly accordingly :) ). I'd love to see any pictures that current Vigor (Standard and CS) fliers have!

The Vigors will have Futaba S9252 digital servos for the CCPM running in 120 degree configuration (we run Futaba Super 8 transmitters) with GY601's on the tails and OS 60 WC's with Muscle Pipes for the power plant. Not sure what blades to put on them just yet. Current thinking is 710mm blades.

Both CS fliers that I know of here in New Zealand are really rapt with their machines. One of them, John Knox, has written some views he has on his one, see his article Living with the CS in the features section.

When the machines get here, I'll let you know how we get on.
